Tree Problem June 2009 - 01

On the night of Sunday 28th June the large Oaks adjacent to the flats began to crack and move!
Jill heard the noises while walking her dog. There was a real fear the trees would fall on the
flats and on no 8.
The Fire Brigade were called and residents of No 8 and the flats were evacuated.
Tree surgeons have inspected the trees and removed some dangerous branches but we await
removal of these trees. Unfortunate it may be - but there is potential for disaster if they fall.
These pictures show the trees after surgery.

Our thanks to the emergency services (Fire and Police), the tree surgeons, EDF Energy and
the Red Cross who helped on that eventful night.
